IT’S HARVEST TO HOLIDAY SEASON IN MT WASHINGTON VALLEY, NH

Tis the season for tax-free shopping and holiday readiness

North Conway, NH –Once Halloween is over, all sights are set on the holidays in Mt Washington Valley.  November is filled with tax-free shopping, girlfriends’ getaways, and the gearing up for ski season launch in Mt Washington Valley.  While the chance to get a jump on holiday shopping might be enough of a reason to visit, here are a number of events to add to the fun – many including special offers from Mt Washington Valley’s outlets and shops.  And to get the most up-to-date information about North Conway’s shopping, click here to sign up for SHOP TALK, a weekly newsletter offered through early December filled with holiday gift ideas, shopping “finds”, coupons and more. Women’s Night at Ragged Mountain Equipment, November 6:  Women are invited to Ragged Mountain Equipment in Intervale from 5PM - 8PM for an evening of fun, raffle prizes, and refreshments. The storewide sale begins at noon and the festivities all follow.  Women can bring their men too! Everyone is encouraged to ask for a discount.  Info:  www.raggedmountain.com.

Bring a Friend to Settlers’ Green Outlet Village, Nov 9, 10, 11: Shoppers start your engines – this is the event that shopping Divas plan their girlfriend’s getaways around all year long.  It’s one of the Valley’s biggest shopping extravaganzas! Stores open on Saturday, November 9 at 8 a.m. with sales galore. Free goodie bags are offered to the first 2,000 shoppers starting at 8 a.m. Receive a gift from Settlers’ Green with a $100 and $500 purchases! There’ll be raffles and entertainment too. 11th Annual JSTF Ski Swap & Sale, November 9, 9am-noon: Check your garage, basement or attic for good but no longer needed XC ski and snowshoe equipment. This is a much better way to recycle gear than a tag sale or leaving it at the transfer station. Bring everything to the Touring Center office the week of November 4-8 where tags are provided for your items ($1 registration fee per item tag) and organize them for the sale on Saturday. ESSC Ski Sale, Nov 9-10:  The Eastern Slope Ski Club equipment sale is one that is widely anticipated among skiers in the Valley.  Taking place under the tent next to the North Conway Community Center, this is one ski sale where you’ll find great deals on used ski equipment. Got equipment to sell?   Purchase item tags at Bob & Terry's Sports Outlet. Drop off nights are Wednesday, Nov. 6th and Thursday, Nov. 7th from 6pm to 8pm at the North Conway Community Center.  Stay tuned to the ESSC Facebook page for updates.

Visit Mt Washington Valley Ski Resorts and XC Centers at Boston Ski Show, Nov 14-17:  Mt Washington Valley’s ski resorts and XC Centers will be ready to tell you all about what’s new for ski season 2013-14.  Visit them at the Boston Ski Show! Kids 12 and under free.  Adults, $12 (click here for a $2-off adult ticket coupon). Admission Includes one year magazine subscription to Ski or Transworld Snowboarding ($3 value) and a $10 Liftopia Gift Card.

Black Mountain Snow Dance, November 23: Start the ski season out by joining fellow die-hards at Black Mountain for the annual snow dance.  The bonfire will be lit, and skiers will gather round as experienced dancers make a plea to the Snow Gods for plentiful white flakes during the season.  Afterward, warm up in the Lostbo Pub and enjoy live entertainment.  Stay tuned to www.Blackmt.com for more details.

Christmastime at Santa’s Village, Weekends, November 23-December 22: This is the time of year when Santa greets every child and listens ever so attentively to all the wishes and wants of the season. Mrs. Claus joins in on the hospitality and offers some warm wassail for all their guests. Stay 'til after dark when the beautiful lighting throughout the park displays a sense of well-being and warmth on those cooler nights. Dress warmly as it gets snuggly cold on the Skyway Sleigh Monorail or the Merry Christmas Ferris Wheel. Black Friday: Midnight to Morning Shopping Village to Village, November 29: There’s no better place to do your Thanksgiving weekend shopping than North Conway Village to Settlers’ Green Outlet Village. The deals are here from Village to Village and the welcome mat is out for all the early shoppers.  At Settler’s Green, all stores will open starting at 5 a.m. on Friday, November 29 Many Settlers’ Green stores will open at midnight, and free coffee, donuts and raffle prizes will be offered! There’s also a free Settlers’ Green gift to first 200 shoppers at midnight. Traditionally Yours Jackson, November 29-30: Friday November 29th is the official start of the Jackson Area Christmas and Holiday Season.   With Businesses offering Open Houses, Taste Testings, Story Telling, Fondues and so much more.  Santa's first visit will take place at 4:30 PM at the Jackson Village gazebo.  Be sure to come a little early so you can see Santa as he arrives by way of his horse drawn sleigh. Santa Express on Conway Scenic RR, November 29, 30, Dec 1: Santa is on board the Conway Scenic Railroad for a special holiday train ride with his mischievous elves who will be sharing their hot chocolate and cookies with everyone. North Conway Village Association Snowflake Festival & Small Business Saturday, November 30: Celebrate the holidays in quintessentially New England, North Conway Village, NH with the Snowflake Festival and Small Business Saturday. The event will include a children’s activities at Norcross Circle Village tree lighting in Schouler Park, right in the center of the North Conway Village. Enjoy special Snowflake Festival sales, specials and promotions in stores throughout the North Conway Village.  Included in the festivities are Small Business Saturday Specials in North Conway Village, Snowflake Soap Giveaways by Fields of Ambrosia BATH-BODY-AROMA. Hot Chocolate and cider provided by Old Village Barbershop, Ice Cream Treats by Ben & Jerry’s Scoop Shop, Sweet Treats by The Met Coffee House, Find- A-Gem activities in the Snowbox provided by Jewelry by Tim Psaledakis & Friends.  Then, make Holiday Cards with Mt. Great Glen Trails Annual Holiday Craft Fair, November 30:  Looking for that perfect locally made and unique gift for the holidays?  More than 30-crafters will be on hand at Great Glen Trails for the annual craft fair. Sacrifice the skis to the snow Gods Bonfire at JSTF, November 30, 5:30pm: Start the ski season with a traditional skier’s bonfire touched off at 5:30 pm.  Music, hot chocolate and refreshments will be served.  Bring some old wooden skis to throw on the fire as a sacrifice to the snow gods.  The bonfire will be outside the Jackson Ski Touring Center in the large parking lot across from the J-Town Deli.
