White Birch Books

We pride ourselves on being a quirky, local, indie bookstore nestled in the heart of North Conway, NH, now in our 25th year! White Birch Books was established in 1992 with the goal of promoting and supporting a community of readers for locals and visitors alike.

We are set back from the road just that little bit, and because of our cute little front porch and tower, we look like a quaint little shop that might carry a corresponding number of quaint books. But once you come in, you’ll find that we are a full story and a half filled with books and carry a complete complement of all the latest bestsellers, hot reads and literary stars, as well as a comprehensive local section, a fantastic children’s department and a well-stocked, unique card, gift and holiday section as well. In a nutshell – we’ve got it all!

Author Evening with Lisa Bunker

Tuesday, June 25, 2019 at 6 PM – 7:30 PM

As part of White Mountains Pride Week this year we will be hosting author Lisa Bunker here at the bookstore. She will be here to talk about her latest book, ZENOBIA JULY, which was just released on May 21st.

Lisa Bunker has written stories all her life. Before setting up shop as a full-time author she had a 30-year career in non-commercial broadcasting, most recently as Program Director of the community radio station in Portland, Maine. Besides Maine she has made homes in New Mexico, southern California, Seattle, and the Florida panhandle. She now lives in Exeter, New Hampshire with her wife, also an author, and her cat. In 2018 she was elected to represent her town in the New Hampshire House of Representatives. She has two grown children. When not writing she plays piano, practices yoga, plays chess, and studies languages.
