OPPORTUNITIES FOR YOUNG PROFESSIONALS IN THE VALLEY:

STAY MWV Mission:

The MWV Young Professional Network was established in 2007 to offer opportunities and resources for the Valley's young professionals to connect with their peers and get involved in the community.

The efforts of STAY MWV began in 2016 with a renewed mission is to support a vibrant population of young folks here in the MWV. In an effort to combat the effects the student loan crisis has on rural communities, their Student Loan Assistance Program assists MWV residents with the payback of their student loans. Similar to a scholarship given to high school students as they enter college, our program assists young folks who are living and working here after college.

Together with community partners, we have raised over $65,000 in student loan repayment funds. We know that these dollars are a direct injection of funds to our local economy--helping the recipients free up their budgets for down payments on homes for example.

In the MWV, young folks have been hit particularly hard by the uncertainty the pandemic has brought to work and childcare. Supporting young people in our region has become more important than ever. In 2021, STAY MWV hopes to raise and disperse $20,000 in student loan assistance.
