Mt. Washington Valley Lodging Properties Get Visitors Out and About for the Perfect Fall Getaway

Ride the Rails, The Admiral Peary House, Fryeburg, ME: September 1 - October 13, 2007
What better way to view foliage than from aboard a train through the Crawford Notch or to the top of Mt. Washington? The Mt. Washington Valley region offers some of the best train rides in New England. For an unparalleled outdoor experience, hop aboard a "Ride the Rails" package and travel into the past. Enjoy two nights accommodation for two with full breakfast, then choose one of the following three rail excursions:

1) Conway Scenic Railroad - A full day excursion into the mountains in the dome car of the historic "Notch Train." 

2) Conway Scenic Railroad - A sunset dinner in the restored Victorian dining car "Chocorua."

Moose Mania, The Bartlett Inn, Bartlett, NH:  September 1 - December 24, 2007
This is the ideal package for those who've tried in vain to spot the elusive moose. This year, add a "moose peep" to your leaf peeping, and you'll really have something to talk about. Spend an evening on a tour of the North Country with the most successful Moose Tour in NH. Easy Adventure with Horse Rides, Farm by the River B&B with Stables, North Conway, NH: September 1 - December 24, 2007
This fall, sleigh, neigh and have a little horse play while taking in beautiful foliage vistas. This three-night stay package for two includes a queen room with private bath, full fireside breakfasts each morning, two complimentary horseback rides or substitute a private Victorian carriage or sleigh ride for two. Moose on the Loose, Glen Oaks Inn, Intervale, NH: September 21 - October 9, 2007

Here's another option for some great moose and foliage watching. Enjoy a three-hour journey in an air-conditioned 21-passenger bus along the scenic Androscoggin River and into the Great North Woods. The package includes two nights lodging for two; a hearty country breakfast for two each morning; two tickets for the Scenic Moose and Wildlife Tour; afternoon tea/coffee and goodies; a disposable camera to capture the views and wildlife on film; and a gift to remember your visit. Attitash Oktoberfest Package, Grand Summit Hotel, Bartlett, NH, October 5-7, 2007

Head to Attitash for Columbus Day weekend and be part of the 10th Annual Oktoberfest Celebration. The traditional Bavarian fete features live music, the long-standing keg toss and stein holding contests, Kiderplatz for children with activities and games, pumpkin painting, a bouncy house and more. This fall, paddle your way to a leaf peeping adventure at Purity Springs Resort. The two-night adventure kicks off with dinner Friday evening, prepared by the resort's award-winning chef. After a hearty country breakfast Saturday morning and a 30-minute instructional paddling lesson (if needed), board the Purity Spring bus to the Saco River in North Conway where kayaks await for a full day on the river including lunch.
