MWV Chamber of Commerce presents 15th Annual Chili Cookoff & 2nd Annual Feelin’ Good 5K
North Conway, NH – Just as the temps warm in the Valley in early April, taste buds will be hot-hot-hot as the 15th Annual Chili Cookoff and the 2nd Annual Feelin’ Good 5K will be held Saturday April 7, 2018 in North Conway, NH. Sponsored by the Mt Washington Valley Chamber of Commerce, the friendly chili cookoff competition will be held at the North Conway Community Center. Once again this year, the Feelin’ Good 5K – will kick-off the festivities. And new this year, Hourglass Adventures will add to the 15th Annual Chili Cookoff festivities, offering attendees an opportunity to participate in an escape game designed specifically for the event. Be one of the first to check it out.
All professional chef chili entries will be judged by members from the American Culinary Federation White Mountain Chapter, headed by Bryant Alden, Chef from the Wildcat Tavern in Jackson. Judged awards are given for Best Chili with first, second and third places acknowledged. Non-profit and home chefs will be awarded People’s Choice Award for Best Chili, selected by all tasters who attend the Chili Cookoff. Both categories will also vie for the Best Cornbread and Best Display prizes too.
The cookoff will be accompanied by a stroll through North Conway village where participating village businesses will be offering a variety of value-added promotions for those enjoying the tour along the “Red Hot Stops” Route. Be sure to pick up your map! The chili cookoff kicks-off the spring foodie events that highlight the Spring season in Mt Washington Valley, NH.
The accompanying Feelin’ Good 5K is organized by the White Mountain Milers and will kick off the Chili Cookoff event at 9:00am when the walkers division gets underway. This family-friendly 5K race or walk is set to run through the North Conway Village finishing in Schouler Park. Registration and more information about the 2nd Annual Feelin’ Good 5k can be found at here. Registration fees start at $15 for youth/students and $25 for adults and include discounted entry into the chili cookoff for the participating runner/walker.
Tickets to attend the Chili Cookoff are on sale now through the Mt Washington Valley Chamber of Commerce at www.northconwaychilicookoff.com or at the door the day of the event. Tickets are $15.00.
Chef registration and complete information for set up and judging is also available online here . Contact the Mt Washington Valley Chamber of Commerce at 603-356-5701 to buy your chili tickets. Tickets purchased must be traded at the event for a wristband, allowing entry to the chili tables for sampling and promotions throughout the village.
