November is tax-free shopping month in Mt Washington Valley.  Bring a friend & get a jump on the holiday revelry

North Conway, NH – November has grown to be one of the most popular months to visit Mt Washington Valley. Tax-free shopping tops the activity chart as thousands flock to the Valley to take advantage of tax-free shopping at 200 outlets, boutiques, shops and galleries.  And wonderful sales and shopping events put the icing on the cake making November the perfect time to grab a girlfriend or boyfriend and get a jump on holiday shopping.  Worried about finding the perfect gift for Aunt Tilly? The eternal search for something she doesn’t already have will be achieved with so many options in the Valley.  From apparel and shoe stores to giftware and gadgets, you are sure to find something for everyone on your list, and have a blast shopping along the way!  Best of all it’s tax free!  That’s right.  New Hampshire is one of the few sales-tax free states left.

November 4 – 5: White Mountain Independents Gift Certificate Sale: Visit the White Mountain Independents Discounted Gift Certificate page to get great holiday savings on gift certificates to any of the 20 unique member shops in Mount Washington Valley. November 9-12: Bring A Friend Weekend at Settlers Green: Some call this the Super Bowl of Shopping Events.  For four days, save with Black Friday-like deals at stores and enjoy a full schedule of activities including live entertainment, hourly raffles, complimentary refreshments, lodging discounts, special itineraries, deals at restaurants throughout North Conway, and the famous shopping bag giveaway. Festivities include raffles every 30 minutes on Friday and Saturday of the event. Saturday marks the huge 2000 shopping bag giveaway, with one lucky winner getting a $500 shopping spree and other small prizes scattered into additional bags. Exclusive store offers are activated with a special wristband available at the event. In addition, there capture all the fun at the event’s photo booth! Lodging properties throughout Mt Washington Valley get in on the fun with lodging packages too. November 10: Jackson Art Studio Show & Sale Opening Reception:  This show and sale will feature a selection of  work from local artists and artisans including painting, photography, encaustic, mixed media, mosaics, mono prints, pottery, glass, jewelry and more. There will be a selection of small works for sale under $295. Show opens Friday, Nov 11 from 6:00-9:00pm with a wine and cheese reception and will continue on Saturday, Nov. 12 from 11:00am-5:00pm. November 11:  Jackson XC Ski & Gear Swap: Here’s your chance to clean out the garage, basement or attic of your good, but not needed XC ski, snowshoe and winter gear.  Bring your slightly used ski equipment and accessories to Jackson Ski Touring November 6-10, 2017, from 8:00 am-4:00pm. There is a $1 registration fee per item being sold. The sale goes from 9:00am-1:0pm on Nov 11.  When your item sells, 15-percent of the sale price goes to support Jackson Ski Touring, and the remaining 85-percent will be paid to you.  Gorham Bike & Ski will also be on hand for early season purchases of new equipment or to answer any questions you have.  Info: Click here.

November 12: Margarita Grill Christmas Expo: From 4:00- 8:00pm, Margarita Grill kicks off the holidays with a celebration of local vendors and artisans! With Salsa Sunday Specials available all evening plus an eclectic mix of local spirits, this promises to be a night filled merriment and cheer, along with some amazing unique gifts from local artisans! November 17: 3rd Annual Skiers Open House at Great Glen Outdoor Center: From 4:00-8:00pm, Nordic and downhill skiers, and fat bikers will enjoy a fun evening of socializing, checking out new gear and clothing, trying out some fat bikes for free, and awesome door prizes. Pizza and Moat Mountain Beer tastings, 2017/18 clothing and equipment previews, free Fat Bike demonstrations, tons of door prizes and 20-percent off all in-stock products are all in store for this annual open house. Info: Click here.

November 24-26: Black Friday Weekend at Settlers Green:  While shops will be closed so families can enjoy Thanksgiving, they’ll open at 6:00am on Black Friday with sales that last throughout the weekend. Stores stay open until 9:00pm on Friday and Saturday. Stop by Customer Service to receive free gifts while they last, and enter raffles. Click here to learn more.

November 24: Plaid Friday sponsored by White Mountain Independents: An alternative to Black Friday when small, independently owned businesses encourage visitors to shop local.  Citizens wear plaid, while out in the community on Plaid Friday, to show their support for our local economy.  Businesses will be serving as Plaid Friday Hubs and acting as Shift Your Shopping ambassadors while taking photographs of plaid clad shoppers for a Plaid Friday Collage. Find them at; Assets Jean Co., Fields of Ambrosia, The Handcrafter’s Barn, Four Your Paws Only, Ragged Mountain Equipment and White Birch Books. Plaid is the new black!

November 25:  Annual Great Glen Craft Fair: The aroma of freshly baked goodies and a craft raffle will welcome shoppers at the door. Local and regional crafters and artisans will take over the base lodge and are spread out on all three floors.  Look for Woodworking, photography, knitting, specialty soaps and lotions, jewelry, wreaths, and much more—including live demonstrations. November 27: Cider Monday:  An alternative to Cyber Monday, White Mountain Independents members invite you to step away from computers and online shopping and stop by for a cup of apple cider.

November 30:  Locals Night at Four Your Paws Only (FYPO): It’s a “howl-i-day” extravaganza including wine tasting with White Mountain Winery, local beer sampling with Moat Mountain Smokehouse & Brewery, light appetizers and desserts, free drawings every half hour, and everything will be on sale at 15-percent off.  Mingle with the FYPO Dogs…Abbey, Ripley, Haylee, Sawyer & Little Tia and visit with Mr. Bates from Conway Area Humane Society.
