Mt. Washington Valley has a long tradition of greeting upscale travelers to New Hampshire. One of the earliest skiing and vacation destinations in the United States, a number of grand hotels attracted the most elite winter enthusiasts from throughout the world. Today, four of the original Grand Dames of New Hampshire’s hotels have been restored to their original splendor, offering opulent environments for those seeking aristocratic surroundings. Once a haven for presidents, dignitaries and notables, the Mountain View Grand Hotel once again opened its doors as one of Mt. Washington Valley’s premier resorts in May, 2002. The Eagle Mountain House in Jackson rounds out the offerings for those seeking to re-live yesteryear in a Grand Hotel of the White Mountains. The Country Inns In The White Mountains, representing 11 upscale member inns, and The Open Door, representing more than 15 members, both offer central reservations for upscale travelers. In all, Mt.
