North Conway, NH – Foodies unite.  Mt Washington Valley is the newest culinary destination for those who love to explore the adventure of food.  Filled with 75 different restaurants, offering up everything from fine to casual, Indian to Thai and local to packaged, you’ll find something for every gastronomic getaway to Mt Washington Valley.  Given the focus on food, businesses throughout the Valley have created events during the first quarter of the year.  If winter is all about comfort food, you’ve come to place in Mt Washington Valley.  Chilly Chili Strolls, Chocolate skiing and cupcake battles are just the beginning.  Scroll through upcoming events, but better have a snack first, because your taste buds will go into high gear as you read through the flavorsome fun.

February 8, March 8:  INNternational Dinner Parties at Snowvillage Inn:  Enjoy an Internationally themed dinner with everything from decorations to themed cuisine. Appetizers and drink specials are served during the 6:00pm social hour then a family style three course dinner is served including soup or salad, entrée and dessert after that, with dishes themed for the country.  February 8th features a French Bistro-style menu, and March 8th celebrates a Caribbean theme. $75 per person.  Reservations required.  Info: 603-447-2818, www.snowvillageinn.com.

Wednesdays, Jan 14 – March 25: Annual AMC kicks off International Dinners & celebrates 25th Anniversary: The Appalachian Mountain Club (AMC) kicked off the twenty-fifth season of its International Dinner and Adventure Series on January 14, when the weekly winter program at the AMC Joe Dodge Lodge/ Pinkham Notch Visitor Center explored Nepal and trekking around the Annapurna Circuit.  For 25 years, winter Wednesday evenings in Pinkham Notch have been transformed into an armchair adventure offering a taste of international cuisine, culture, and exploration. Dinners include soup or appetizer, salad, entrée, bread, dessert, coffee, teas and cold beverages. Guests may bring their own beer or wine. A nightly raffle of AMC or other regional items is offered to spur thoughts of new adventures. Dinner is served at 6:00pm, immediately before the presentation, and is $29 for adult non-members ($24 for AMC members). The Wednesday series runs from January 14 – March 25, with the exception of February 18. The presentations are free and open to the public. January 31-February 8: Food Drive at Settlers’ Green Outlet Village: February is National Canned Food Month, so Settlers' Green will be hosting a week-long food drive at the Settlers’ Green Customer Service Office to support local food pantries. Customers can bring in 10 or more cans and receive $10 off any purchase* at Settlers’ Green. The Food Drive will be based at the Customer Service Office (Suite C13), which is open 8:30-5 Monday-Friday and 10-5/ Help Settlers' Green reach their goal of 1000 non-perishable items! *Limit one per customer/household for the duration of the Food Drive. February 7: 12th Annual Ice Festival and Winter Carnival at Remick Farm: From 11:00am to 3:00pm Remick Country Doctor Museum & Farm in Tamworth will celebrate winter with their largest event of the season.  Try your hand at a historic New Hampshire tradition: the Ice Harvest. Visitors of all ages may try marking, cutting, floating, lifting and stacking ice blocks from the farm pond. See the blocks stored in sawdust in the Ice House. Interact with farm animals, outdoor cooking demonstrations, historic exhibits and buildings, live music, winter games, activities & more. February 14:  5th Annual Cupcake Battle: Mount Washington Valley Promotions presents the 5th annual Cupcake Battle from 1:00pm to 3:30pm at the North Conway Community Center.  Taste a variety of inspired cupcake flavors from 15 or more bakers and vote for your favorites in three categories.  Tickets are limited and may be purchased from the bakers or by calling Lisa at 374-6241 or Chrissy at 733-7666. February 22:  26th Annual Inn to Inn Chocolate Festival:  From 11:00am to 3:00pm this just might be the sweetest place to be in all of New Hampshire.  Cross country ski or snowshoe the network trails of the Mt. Washington Valley Ski Touring Foundation stopping at trailside businesses for chocolate treats at every stop. The 26th Annual  Inn-to-Inn Chocolate Festival is an annual fundraiser held the last Sunday in February every year. Festival tickets include full day trail pass, complimentary chocolate at several trailside locations, additional chocolate at area businesses, and complimentary shuttle. You’ll burn calories getting from one place to the other, and burn off choco-energy too! Purchase tickets in advance online or at the Touring Center for $30 per person.  Tickets purchased the day of the event will be $35 per person and may be purchased at any trailside stop. February 28:  12th Annual Chilly Chili Stroll & Cookoff:  This annual event takes place throughout North Conway Village and no matter how chilly it is outside, chili tastings will warm your insides.  There’s plenty of fun above and beyond chili too.  Highlights of this annual event include Professional and “People’s Choice" chefs vying for your vote with more than thirty chili recipes.
