One Valley, Three Chances for Farm to Table Dining

North Conway, NH – While it’s well known for the White Mountain National Forest and Presidential Mountains surrounding it, Mt Washington Valley actually sits on fertile land surrounded by family owned and operated farms offering the finest in homegrown culinary adventure.  This August, three fabulous farms offer up the opportunity to dine with distinction, tasting goodness that comes from so close by you’ll see from whence it came right from where you sit! Enjoy Farm to Table with the one you love in Mt Washington Valley, NH with three special opportunities in August.

Saturday Tours & Farm Dinners at White Gates Farm, Tamworth: Spend a unique evening touring a working farm and enjoying dinner on the farmer’s porch. Upon arrival at the farm you’ll be greeted with a glass of lemonade to take with you on a walking tour of the farm.  During the tour, you’ll be introduced to the farm’s biodiesel operation, the starter house and greenhouses, cows in the field, layer hens, broiler chickens in the field and chicks in the brood house. Tours will be conducted by the knowledgeable farmers themselves, who will entertain as well as inform.  After your farm tour, return to the farmhouse and stay for dinner prepared by a local chef and served on the farmer’s porch. It’s a dining experience unlike any other you’ll find, and a unique way to spend an evening in New Hampshire. Tour and dinner prices are $75.00 per person and held Saturdays August 9, August 23 and September 26th. NOTE DATE CHANGE: 7th Annual Fields on the Saco Dinner, October 19: Everything that touches your mouth during this fabulous farmside dinner will have been grown or raised on the fertile ground of several bordering family farms in Maine and New Hampshire, for a taste that is truly local.  Fields on the Saco, on Sunday, October 19th is Farm to Table at its finest.  Slow Food Saco Valley, the newest Slow Food Chapter in the region, presents this fabulous five course meal and event held at the Barn at Hardy Farm in Fryeburg Maine.  By taking the products grown and harvested fresh from several neighboring New Hampshire and Maine farms and sourcing the talents of award-winning chefs you are sure to be amazed with this meal.  Beverages and appetizers provided by volunteer servers will begin at 4:30pm while you mingle with friends on the beautiful grounds on the Hardy Farm. Dinner will be served at 5:30pm with live music throughout the evening. Farmhouse Kitchen Country Dinner at Remick Country Doctor Museum & Farm, August 22:   A true farm-to-table experience where you’ll savor a homemade meal featuring meat and produce raised/grown on the Remick Farm. This is a BYOB event.  A vegetarian option and other dietary modifications may be considered if requested in advance. Advance registration required. Two seatings; 5:30 and 7:00pm.  Admission: $12 adults/$8 children under 12.  Info and reservations: (603) 323-7591.
