THE ROAD TO THE LINKS TAKES YOU TO MT WASHINGTON VALLEY, NH Over 175 holes of golf within a 35-mile radius of North Conway, NH

Mt. Washington Valley, NH - There are 11 golf courses offering a wide range of experiences on more than 175 holes throughout the Mt. Washington Valley, all offering tee times to the public. Each course presents its own distinctive challenge and scenic appeal.

Starting from the North, the impressive Mountain View Grand Hotel Golf Club and Spa offers golfers a challenging mountain course with natural terrain features and impeccable playing conditions. This challenging, mountain golf course was designed and built in 1900 by Ralph Barton, a professor of Mathematics at Dartmouth College and renowned golf architect of the early 20th century. The course was renovated in 1999, when extensive work to the greens, tee boxes and course hazards allowed it to recapture its original grandeur. The course sits on a beautiful country hillside affording fabulous views of four distinct mountain ranges. Two ponds were added on the fifth hole in 2009.

In Jackson, you'll be greeted by the eighteen-hole Wentworth Golf Course offing a pro shop and putting green. This Scenic resort style course comes with small challenging greens. It's user friendly for beginners and challenging for better players.   Lodging associated with this resorts offer both golf packages and fabulous meals to compliment your day on the course.

Additionally in Jackson, consider staying at the Historic Eagle Mountain House and playing this scenic 9-hole course. The par 32 golf course also offers a seasonal outdoor heated pool and tennis court. The Eagle Mountain House & Golf Club winds its way along the Wildcat River and features elevated tees with spectacular mountain views from every hole. The course boasts a small pro shop, a beautiful driving range and is open to the public from May through late October.

If you continue into Gorham, you’ll come to two intriguing courses, Androscoggin Valley Country Club and Waumbek Country Club in Jefferson. Both offer 18-hole courses that have been established for over 85 years, with Waumbek being New Hampshire’s oldest course. If you’re looking for stellar views of the Presidential ranges, along with challenging and entertaining courses Androscoggin Valley Country Club and Waumbek Country Club are two excellent choices. 

In Bretton Woods you'll find two courses set within dramatic scenery at the Omni Mount Washington Resort - an 18 hole course and a nine hole course. Reopened August of 2008, the par 72 Mount Washington Course has been meticulously restored to Ross' original plans by noted golf course architect Brian Silva. It now includes bunkers crafted in a classic flair and infinite varieties of recovery shots in the closely cropped areas around the putting greens. The par-five 11th hole and the par-three 5th hole feature stunning views of The Mount Washington Hotel and surrounding mountains.

Continuing into North Conway, consider the Hales Location Golf Course, described by Golf Magazine as "One of the most unique and singularly beautiful golf developments in the country".  Located at the White Mountain Hotel & Resort beneath the spectacular Whitehorse Ledge, Hale’s Location Golf Course is a very challenging course for all types of golfers.  Each hole is separate, with Bent greens, fairway tees, elevated greens and many sand traps.  There are breathtaking views from the tees to the greens. 

Next, the North Conway Country Club, established in 1895, has provided an enjoyable golf experience in Mt Washington Valley for over 100 years. One round on this course speaks for itself...the views of Mt Washington and the Presidential and Moat Ranges will leave you speechless. This spectacularly scenic 18-hole championship course has water hazards coming into play on five holes and numerous sand bunkers spread throughout its design.  Rated as one of the Top Ten Golf Courses in New Hampshire, the course is consistently and impeccably maintained and is a good test of golf at all levels.

Finally, in the southern part of Mt. Washington Valley, you'll find Indian Mound Golf Course, in Center Ossipee. Here, architect Phil Wogan presents a challenging par 70 golf course with a relatively level front nine, and gentle rolling terrain back on the back nine. It is well groomed and player friendly.

The road to the links ends in the southern part of the Valley at Province Lake Golf Course in Parsonsfield, NH. Province Lake Golf is an 18 hole -- 6279 yard course, with the crystal clear Province Lake as the focal point, visible from fourteen of the holes on the course. What makes this course unusual is that it spans between two states - New Hampshire and Maine. The surrounding woods create a sound buffer imparting a "quiet" rarely found these days.

Head east, and you'll enjoy the Bridgton Highlands Golf Course.  a beautiful and challenging 18 hole golf course with amazing mountain views located in the Maine Lakes and NH's Mount Washington Valley Regions. The original 9 hole course was originally designed by the noted designer, A. W. Tillinghast. The hole has been expanded to 18 holes. There is a fully equipped pro shop, driving range, junior golf program.

Take the Road To The Links in Mt. Washington Valley, stay and play each course. It may take two trips, but you'll be surrounded by a gorgeous setting, kind hospitality, challenging courses, and of course plenty to celebrate when you make it to the 19th hole watering spot.
