Top Ten Ways to Go Up and Down the Mountains in Mt Washington Valley

North Conway, NH -- When skiing first came to New England, skiers were thankful to have simple tows made from ropes and shovel handles to transport them up the mountain.  We've come a long way since the days of skimobiles and shovel handle tows in Mt Washington Valley.  Nowhere in New England will you find more ways to slip, slide away than in Mt Washington Valley, NH.  With seven ski resorts and six cross country centers offering ziplines and canopy tours, three tubing parks, lighted skiing, the SnowCoach up Mount Washington and now two Mountain Coaster rides, those hoping to "go fast" down the mountain are no longer limited to skis and snowboards.  Best of all, while the best in gear is still a priority for skiers and boarders, those without skiing or riding experience can now feel the exhilaration of riding, rolling and zipping down the mountain.

Rock and Roll on the Mountain Coasters:  Both Attitash and Cranmore Mountain Resort opened their new Mountain Coaster rides in November, 2010.  The Nor'Easter at Attitash the Mountain Coaster at Cranmore both offer an exhilarating ride up and down the mountain with scenic views and thrilling banked turns.

Bretton Woods Canopy and Zipline Tour: Descending over 1000 feet of elevation, the Bretton Woods Canopy tour takes nature-lovers and thrill-seekers across a series of tree-top zip lines. It's one of the longest zip line canopy tour in New England and one of the longest canopy tours in the continental United States! Dogsledding: Muddy Paw Sled Dog Kennel offers year round dog sledding adventures throughout  Northern, NH. Tubing: Do the kids still have plenty of energy even after the slopes close?  Perhaps they're not skiers, but love to go fast down the mountain.  Look for tubing parks (open weekends and holiday periods) at Cranmore, King Pine and Great Glen Trails. 

Skiing and Riding:  Here's one place where skiers and boarders are bound to find whatever they seek.  From glades to steeps to gentle, wide terrain, Mt Washington Valley's seven ski resorts offer more than 250 trails combined.  Just to make sure you're outfitted properly, there are more than ten ski rental and ski shops offering a wide variety of ski and snowboard gear, plus great customer service both at the mountains in throughout Mt Washington Valley. Mt Washington Valley offers six varied and naturally beautiful XC ski centers where outdoor lovers can ski, skate or snowshoe on trails through woods, open fields and back country on 450 km of trails (some groomed, some natural).

SnowCoach: A specially constructed all-wheel drive and unique 4-track system allows the SnowCoach to deliver you to the world above treeline at the 4.5 mile mark on the Mt. Washington Auto Road for a truly unforgettable experience. This is one of New England's most spectacular winter sightseeing opportunities available through Great Glen Trails.
