MT WASHINGTON VALLEY IS TOPS FOR POPS THROUGHOUT JUNE

In honor of Father’s Day, ten top ideas for the “mancation” of a lifetime

North Conway, NH -- Dad, June is your month.  Even if you're not a Dad, it's the perfect time to celebrate men in Mt Washington Valley.  In honor of all our male visitors, here are the top ten ideas for your "mancation" in Mt Washington Valley.

1. Pale Ale Male Vacation
Take advantage of the Cabernet Inn's Pail Ale Male Mancation, featuring a pail of his favorite ale, pretzels and peanuts, plus dinners, cigars and more.  For guys who prefer a tent, cabin or to bring the RV, consider a "campcation" with the guys at one of Mt Washington Valley's ten campgrounds and cabin resorts.

2. Guns, Tattoos, Harleys and Cigars
Many men would say that hunting, cigars, tattoos and a Harley are all necessary elements of a successful mancation.  Start with a visit to White Mountain Firearms, providing responsible citizens with quality firearms, then on to White Mountain Tattoo, followed by a stop at White Mountain Harley Davidson to learn all about the Rally in the Valley, for motorcycle aficionados June 12-17. Top the day off with a visit to Village Cigar Emporium, for a fine hand rolled stogy.

3. Dads Ride Free on Father's Day
On Father's Day bring along pop, dad, the old man, daddy, father, dada, the big guy, whatever you call him...purchase at least one or more Junior/Adult Wildcat Express scenic gondola rides, and he will ride for free. Visit the Conway Scenic RR, and Dad rides FREE in Coach when accompanied by one or more of his children. Dad rides FREE in First Class when accompanied by another paying adult.

4. Cross One Off the Bucket List

Guys, if tackling the high ropes course at Monkey Trunks is on your bucket list, cross it off in June.  It's okay to say you were scared.  For a little tamer entertainment, consider a spin around the track at White Lake Speedway Go Karts.

5. FORE him

Even a rainy day on the golf course is better than a day in the office.  Mt Washington Valley has eeleven scenic and challenging golf courses and 220 scenic holes within a forty minute drive from North Conway.

6. Manly Sized

Who says real men don't eat cupcakes?  Grab one of the fabulously sweet, manly sized cupcakes for your man at White Mountain Cupcakery.  Looking for a big sizzling steak? Try Decades Steakhouse & Pub with its new martini bar or Red Parka Steakhouse & Pub with a wide selection of brew choices served in guy-sized mugs.

7. Hit the Trails
Mountain biking, horseback riding and hiking are all great ways to get him out and on the go this summer.  June is the ideal time for a Tuckerman Ravine trek too. Stop at Pearl Izumi Factory Outlet, Nike Sports Outlet, Eastern Mountain Sports, International Mountain Equipment, Ragged Mountain Sports, Red Jersey Cyclery, Bob & Terry's Sports Outlet, Stan & Dan Sports, Joe Jones Sun & Ski Sports or Olympia Sports for everything you need for biking, hiking, rock climbing, and more outdoor fun.

8. Leave the BBQing to Someone Else
Men, take a break and leave the grilling to someone else.  Let Yankee Smokehouse in West Ossipee or Hillbilly's Southern BBQ in North Conway serve up your bar-b-q ribs, chicken and more in manly portions this June.

9. Man's Best Friend

Man's best friend is well served in Mt Washington Valley too. Bring Rover to Four Your Paws Only and let him droll over the doggie deli.  To search for pet-friendly lodging on www.mtwashingtonvalley.org, click on WHERE TO STAY, then ADVANCED LODGING SEARCH, then click on Pet Friendly.  If you're lodging choice can't accommodate pets, Karla's Pet Rendezvous or Auntie Cindy's Albany Pet Care offer lodging and services for your pet.  Looking for a manly dog?  Visit  the Animal Rescue League of Northern NH.

10. Hit the Water

By tube, canoe, kayak or pure brut strength, June is a great time to hit the rivers, ponds, and lakes surrounding Mt Washington Valley.  A number of businesses and outfitters await.  From Attitash Water Park to EMS, Great Glen Trails, North Woods Rafting and canoe/kayak outfitters like Northern Extremes Kayak & Canoe, Saco Bound Outdoors, Saco Valley Canoe and Woodlands Acre Canoeing, it's clear there are plenty of choices for aqua men.
