‘FIELDS ON THE SACO 2010’ PAIRS LOCALLY GROWN, ARTFULLY PREPARED CUISINE WITH COUNTRY ELEGANCE FOR A TRULY UNIQUE NIGHT ON THE FARM

3rd Annual Fields on the Saco to be held August 28th in Fryeburg, Maine

FRYEBURG, ME— Take the fresh produce of three neighboring New Hampshire and Maine farms, combine them with the talents of four award-winning chefs and Mt Washington Valley's Green Team, and what results is a fabulous four course meal and event held in the landing field at Green Thumb Farm in Fryeburg, Maine.

Mark the calendar for August 28th for the Third Annual "Fields on the Saco," a special event honoring the land, family tradition and your discriminating taste. On this night, everything that touches your taste buds will have been raised in the fertile ground of three bordering family farms in Maine and New Hampshire, for a taste that is truly local.

Presented by Weston's Farm, celebrating 200 years of family farming, Sherman Farm, a dairy and vegetable farm on 150 majestic acres along the Saco River Valley, Green Thumb Farms, grower and shipper of quality Maine potatoes and Cold River Vodka, Nerefield Farm, breeders and trainers of world class Border Collies and The Community Gardens of the Mt Washington Valley's Green Team in conjunction with the Mt. Washington Valley Chamber of Commerce, this day long event is sure to feed the food lover in you.

More than just an elegant and artfully prepared dinner, the 3rd Annual Fields on the Saco with help from the Mt. Washington Valley Green Team, will provide participants with interactive tours of the participating farms, a Border Collie exhibition at Nerefield Farm, as well as educational seminars depicting the green food movement. At dinner, guests can enjoy Maine's distinctive Cold River Vodka and complimentary wines from Vintner’s Cellar Winery, live music and commemorative gifts.

The four course dinner, overseen by Executive Chef Bryant Alden of Chef's Market of North Conway and the White Mountain Chapter of the American Culinary Federation, will feature signature dishes from Chef Peter Belmonte of Inn at Thorn Hill & Spa, Chef Jonathan Spak of Oxford House Inn and Lisa Summerville of Vintage Baking Company. Guests will be able to enjoy their dinner amidst the beautiful mountain landscape and fertile fields, bringing produce to plate full circle.

To end the evening, a live auction will be held offering lucky bidders the chance to own the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winning, cedar ‘Art-A-Ron-Dack’ chairs made by R&R Woodworkers of Jackson, NH and painted by local and regional artists.

Tickets to the event are $125 per person, are limited to the first 100 people and must be reserved in advance. The event will support Mt Washington Valley's Green Team's efforts to engage Mt Washington Valley residents and businesses in adopting eco-friendly practices to reduce their environmental impact.  Tickets may be ordered in advance by calling 800-367-3364 or 603-356-5701.
