North Conway, NH - With near record snowfall in Mt Washington Valley, many of the ski resorts and XC centers will extend their seasons well into April, offering plenty of on-snow fun for winter adventurers. Yet, at the same time, golf and gardening season begins as winter wanes and warmer temps arrive. Once the lifts close, adventure skiers and those who love to watch them will prepare their rock skis and take the trek to Mt Washington's famed Tuckerman Ravine. Here hard core skiers tackle the Ravine's head wall as others cheer on from the famed Lunch Rocks, the perfect spectator location. As snow melts, waterfalls will rush this season, and Mt Washington Valley's famed mud season begins. Look for flower shows, cultural events and live music, plus much more. In the perfect tongue in cheek way only Mt Washington Valley can achieve, businesses throughout the Valley will feature mud slides, mud spa treatments and the renowned Yuks in the Muck event. April 3: "John Sebastian & David Grisman" at the Stone Mountain Arts Center - John Sebastian became lead singer and songwriter of the Lovin' Spoonful and David Grisman spearheaded an acoustic music revolution with his genre-defying "Dawg" music. April 19: Hearthside Dinner at the Remick Museum - The Remick Country Doctor Museum & Farm in Tamworth will present a dinner cooked entirely on the open hearth using historic recipes from 5 to 7 p.m. Guests help to prepare the meal with ingredients preserved fresh from the harvest. The museum staff dress in 19th century attire and the menu changes with the seasons. Reservations are required. The fee is $35 per person. April 18-20: Tuckerman Inferno Triathlon and Pentathlon - The annual Tuckerman's Inferno Triathlon and Pentathlon is sponsored by Friends of Tuckerman, a non-profit organization founded to preserve the historic uses of Tuckerman Ravine. The Tuckerman Inferno Pentathlon is New England's Premiere five event adventure sports race (Run, Kayak, Cycle, Hike, Backcountry, Ski). The race starts in the Mount Washington Valley and finishes in Tuckerman's Ravine. This is a great spectator event and a fabulous adventure for extreme sports fans. April 25-26 - 3rd Annual "Yuks in the Muk" Comedy Relief Weekend - This fun and unique weekend features dinner/comedy shows on both Friday and Saturday nights, followed by the Annual Mud, Muck, Moose five mile trail race on Sunday. Headlining the comedy shows is New Hampshire native Bucky Lewis, who brings his zany and off the wall musical comedy show to town. There will be several other comedians slated to perform as well. Ticket sales are limited to 175 per show. The comedy shows are slated to open the doors for dinner at 6:30 p.m. each night, show time is at 8:00 p.m. Tickets are $45 each and are inclusive of tax and gratuity. May 5: 10th Annual Business to Business Expo - This event features 100 exhibitors, a business luncheon, educational workshops, wine and brew tasting and more. Presented by the Mount Washington Valley Chamber of Commerce, this popular event is the largest networking opportunity in the North Country.

May 25: Jackson Wildquack River Festival - Come early for this action packed fun filled race to the finish line. Activities in the Park start at 10 a.m. and post time for the race is 2:00 p.m. There will be children's games, vendors, food, entertainment, t-shirts and more. Over 3000 rubber ducks will cascade down the Jackson Falls into the Wildcat River as visitors cheer, jeer, and quack on their duck. Prizes are awarded to the fastest ducks that cross the finish line. June 7: 30th Annual Jackson Covered Bridge Footrace - Join the 30th running of this USATF certified 10,000 meter course winding through Jackson Village and along the pastoral "Five Mile Circuit". The race features cash and merchandise prizes, home baked sandwiches, ice cream, and a top quality four-color beefy tee shirt for all pre-registered runners. The Yankee Teamsters and the 4-H Working Steers Club test their skill and vie for ribbons in Fitting & Showmanship, Cart & Obstacle Course and Stoneboat Hauling.
