Foliage is Peaking in the Notches

Foliage observers tell us that the color is spectacular in the Notches, with foliage just about at peak in Pinkham and Crawford Notch, NH.  According to Thomas Prindle of Wildcat Ski Resort, "Pinkham Notch is definitely at peak foliage and the colder temperatures that contributed to the season's first snow seen on Mt. Washington last Friday and over the weekend may have advanced the color changing process".

Snow has arrived on Mount Washington, the highest peak in the Northeast, after temps dipped.  According to the Mount Washington Observatory, a weak area of high pressure will keep the forecast free of precipitation for the next couple of days. Monday afternoon, a much stronger ridge of high pressure will build into the area, making for sunny skies through Wednesday, perfect for leaf peeping in Mt Washington Valley.
