FALL FOLIAGE REPORT #2 FROM MT WASHINGTON VALLEY CHAMBER OF COMMERCE, North Conway, NH - September 15, 2008

North Conway, NH - A large area of low pressure associated with Hurricane Ike is passing through Mt Washington Valley, NH today, with high winds, particularly this morning.  According to the Mt Washington Observatory, high pressure is expected to build behind this low for drier air through Wednesday, September 16.  Colder morning temperatures are forecasted, which will continue to contribute to foliage color turning, especially in the higher elevations.  By Thursday, forecasted lows in the 30's may spur a frost and contribute to the feeling of fall weather in the Mt Washington Valley.  Bright, sunny days this week will make for perfect leaf peeping weather for visitors to Mt Washington Valley.  Fall color continues to progress, especially at higher elevations.
