Recreational racers will once again be able to participate in NASTAR racing at Shawnee Peak, after an absence of several seasons. The NASTAR race program is located on the East Slope, and offers skiers and snowboarders the opportunity to compete against racers at other ski areas in a national handicapping system. Regional winners compete in the NASTAR National championships in Colorado. Additionally, Shawnee Peak will power lifts and mountain operations this year exclusively with wind power.
